Amenra - Mass II
(SOUL0015 - 2011)

ConSouling Sounds is delighted to present the rerelease of Amenra's Mass II, together with Ritual II, for the very first time on vinyl. Belgium's premier doom/sludge/postmetal outfit's massive sound unfolds itself in its full potential this time around. Billy Anderson (Eyehategod, Melvins, Neurosis, Swans, ...) remastered the album and he truly managed to unleash the beast. The combination of moving compositions, the unique Amenra riffing and the violent outpours never sounded more intense, dramatic and profound. You didn't really experience Mass II, until you've heard this version!
The impression is limited to 500 copies (75 clear/splatter, 125 clear, 300 black), all on 180 grams vinyl to contribute to the ultimate listening experience.

Syndrome - Floating Veins
(SOUL0014 - 2011)

It is with great pride we bring you "Floating Veins", the debut album of Syndrome, the lastest moniker under which Mathieu Vandekerckhove (Amenra, Kingdom, Sembler Deah) operates. Opposed to the emotional and violent outpour that Amenra delivers, Syndrome explores the very boundaries of introspective music.
Prepare to be taken on a narrative musical journey through five acts each painting a different picture but trancending into one dramatic moment where everything seems to fall into place perfectly. While the ambient soundscapes and the erie droning riffs are the blood, the apocalyptic drums and beats are the pulse. The tides stow the listener right into the roaring heart of Syndrome. Until it stops.
CD comes in a vinyl style 3mm spined sleeve. Limited to 500 copies (100 copies with extra dvd). LP (with one bonus track) is co-released with Truelove Entertainment and is limited to 300 copies.

Aderlating - Spear of Gold and Seraphim Bone part one
(SOUL0013 - 2011)

Aderlating is slowly but surely making a name for itself. Starting out as an outlet for Mories (Gnaw Their Tongues/De Magia Veterum) to bring his unique dark aurual vison to the live environment, together with Eric (Mowlawner), Aderlating evolved into a solid recording/performing band.
Ranging from subtle ambient to noise-drenched slabs of black metal, rumbling low-ends, screeching highs and driven industrial brutality, Aderlating is captivating and disenchanting at the same time. The game of attracting and repelling casts the audience under a dark spell. And this metaphor really isn't far fetched. The whole atmosphere breathes a hypnotic darkness, which has a distinct ritualistic feel to it.
Comes in a vinyl style 3mm spined sleeve. Limited to 500 copies.

Magnetic Fields & Zero Dimension Planes: drone and ambient compilation
(SOUL0012 - 2011)

It's very hard to define what exactly ambient and drone music is. It's a broad spectrum with hardly any boundaries and which is open to a lot of experiments. Sometimes gentle sounds without much variations, other times dreams-evoking and oppressive rhythms.
With this compilation we try to do justice to this diversity, as the sound palette goes from monotone soundscapes and guitar drones over dark ambient and field recordings to electronic and new age-like ambient.

Nearly all tracks are unreleased and/or exclusive to this release. Featured artists are: [multer], Blyndhæð, Distant Fires Burning, IAM., Mirko Uhlig, Monotonos, N, Nihilum, Premonition Factory, Simulacra, Soundsketching and Tzesne.
Comes in a folded A2-poster designed by Merijn Dietvorst from .vorst ontwerp

Aidan Baker - Lost in the Rat Maze
(SOUL0011 - 2011)

With Lost in the Rat Maze Aidan Baker produces an unconventional album - even to Baker-standards. Having been known for his extensive ambient soundscapes, Baker chose a different approach to his sound weaving - albeit true to the "Bakersound". In stead of a densely layered and broad sound palette, Baker has almost embraced a "postrockish" method of composing. More compact, pointed and clear progressions can be discovered, together with a diverse array of instruments, sounds and techniques. Expect the classic Aidan Baker elements: captivating, fascinating and repetitive mesmerizing sounds - but with a different twist to it.
Limited to 900 copies (100 copies in oversized sleeve, 800 copies in regular jewel case)

Viscera/// 2: As Zeitgeist Becomes Profusion of the I
(SOUL0010 - 2010)

What started out as a straightforward brutalcore band meandered into an experimental quartet.
With the introduction of psychedelic sounds, postcore bits and ambient/drone pieces it's quite easy to brand this outfit as the next "post"-band. But there's more that meets the eye:
The band never completely let go of their roots, balancing brutal grindcore with delicate post metal influences. This results in a truly unique sound that can shift from fragile to frenzy in a heartbeat.
With this latest effort, 2 - As Zeitgeist Becomes Profusion of the I, these Italians produced their most ambitious and mature offering to this day which makes it the most complex yet accessible listening experience Viscera/// ever offered.

SIMULACRA - There is a Fountain filled with Blood
(SOUL0009 - 2010)

Degradation, degeneration, fear, sadness, loneliness, the end... these and many other negativities, "dressed in a dark ambient garment" can be felt in the new work of Simulacra. The five foggy pieces of work that overwhelm the listener with a feeling of a total solitariness while waiting for something that is not avoidable and can’t be stopped create the musical whole. The sounds used in the new album of Simulacra are, as usual, the minimalist form of dark ambient, that emanates with hypnotic attraction.
The main motif of the new album is a fountain filled with blood that symbolizes the source of death, the place we constantly head on in our gloomy existential pilgrimage. The atmosphere of the album grabs the listener’s heart... to stop its beating with one grip.

MONDRIAN OAK - Through Early Seed
(SOUL0008 - 2009)

These Italians shared the stage with a lot of great bands (Zippo, Gerda, Last Minute To Jaffna, Viscera/// e.a.), which most certainly helped them to shape their own voice within the genre: they have crafted a sound which is evocative and psychedelic merely with the classic rock instruments, devoid of excess. With their loud, doomy and gloomy outbursts that alternate with intimistic accoustic parts, their music is situated on the crossroads between postrock and postcore. The maturity and originality they put in the arrangements of the composition makes this a debut album that truly stands out, and predicts a promising future!

(SOUL0007 - 2009)

Impossible to pinpoint an exact genre or reference point: Barcelona's Exxasens maintains a unique musical journey. A journey that leads the listener somewhere... Beyond the Universe.

METHADRONE - Better Living (Through Chemistry)
(SOUL0006 - 2009)

Methadrone has come a long way since its conception as a 2-bassed sludge/drone monolith. Craig Pillard (who has been part of Evoken, Incantation, e.a.) gradually expanded his sound through experiment with acoustic guitars and other vocal collaborations. Better Living (Through Chemistry) is pushing beyond the boundaries of traditional doom music, resulting in well balanced atmospheric pieces of music which make this third full album the apogee of Methadrone's oeuvre this far.
On this innovative journey, that bridges the gaps between doom, drone, dark ambient, wave and even neo-folk, Pillard sided with Jason Wallach (The Unquiet Void), Tara Vanflower (Lycia) and Thierry Arnal (fragment.) to present their next step in the evolution of gloomy music.

VANESSA VAN BASTEN - Psygnosis EP
(SOUL0003 - 2008)

This heavy Italian postrock ensemble does not constrict itself to the laws of some Great Postrock Bible. Instead it blends in psychedelica, ambient influences, metal and shoegaze to result in a unique musical experience.
Dreamlike and cinematographic sounds collide with heavy and dark sonic assaults: the music is incredibly crafted and reveals more of its intrinsic beauty every time it is being played.
Vanessa Van Basten has kept their lo-fi attitude as the tracks were recorded in the rehearsal room and at home with the aid of a technician and feature a human drummer (no more drum computer this time) that has toured with the band in the past.
The EP comes in an oversized folded cover with a sixteen page booklet inserted.
Limited to 500 copies

Mt. - Teach Your Children How To Think, Not What To Think
(SOUL0002 - 2009)

It has been a while since we heard new tunes by the band branded by The Silent Ballet as “one of the shining new lights of the UK post-rock scene”.
The EP contains 4 brand new tracks that push beyond 2006 critically acclaimed Lethologica. During the years of silence the band progressed as songwriters, which is reflected in every track on the Teach Children How To Think, Not What To Think EP. Intelligently layered structures entwined with amazingly crafted melodies leave no room for interpretation: Mt. are back and determined to permanently claim a place in the spotlights.

[multer] - Berge im Bunker
(CON007 - 2011)

The two tracks on this release are based on the music that was originally composed for the Berge im Bunker exhibition by Barbara Meisner that ran from August 2008 to May 2009 in Dortmund.
The collage is a repeating, light melodic environmental soundscape that creates an unheimlich feel, while incorporating all [multer] elements: loops, electronica , drones... Still it is not a typical release for the German duo as it is their most minimal effort up to date.
The music will get the best out of your imagination.

ENDER - s/t

"Ender describe themselves as experimental drone rock - which means their palette is mainly comprised of layered slabs of overdriven guitar........the pair have the capacity not only to construct great caverns of noise but to deftly evoke mood and emotion with sustained tones in harmony and dissonance. The arrangement of pure tone, minus premeditated riffs or the focus of a voice allows a listener to be carried away on its waveforms. The music is corralled into four unnamed parts, perhaps heralding a seasonal life cycle." - Jacob Connor, NZ Musician Magazine
